Viking treasure found in Denmark
Viking stuff seems to just keep popping out of the ground! A fascinating report hit the internet yesterday telling of an archaeological dig in Denmark which uncovered hundreds of Viking Age coins from a variety of countries. Also included in the treasure was a Thor’s hammer, which one Danish paper described as ‘almost untouched by the passage of time’. The initial discovery was made by teenager and part time metal detector enthusiast Michael Stokbro who acknowledged that his friends find him ‘a bit nerdy’. Go Nerds we say!
